How I spent my 4th of JULY
Made it almost 1/4 of the way to GRAND HAVEN when I notice the truck is down on power and I smell anti-freeze. First thought is the radiator blew( it has a small leak) About this same moment my wife informes me that white smoke is coming out of the exhaust. NOT GOOD -- BLOWN HEAD GASKET. This is a turbo charged DIESEL. SOO got a friend to tow the boat back home and had a wrecker bring the truck back home. Spent the next 4 hours just getting the drivers side head off and that is the easy one. Of course that one wasn't the one with the bad gasket. ( would have replaced both sides anyway.) Lets hope it didn't bend a rod. At idle it was knocking preaty good from the water being sucked into that cylinder. Maybe I will have it fixed by saturday morning. If it was the boat it would allready be fixed. Much easier and NO rusty or broken bolts.

Tinker,
I think Todd and Tracy had a MUCH better time than you, and me for that matter.
Sorry to hear about the truck Dude. Hope it turns out OK.
We did not go to the lake yesterday. Had to cut a large tree that fell over my fence last week, repair fence, put graphics on boat and start working on a new shed for my truck. Worked up to 3:00 and the heat got me. Damn it is hot in the Carolina's.
Take care

We went to Clearwater Pass. After a short run and Johno doing his best Don Aranow immitation (are't the props supposed to be IN the water ), we anchored where the fireworks were going off almost directly overhead. Ashes were raining down on us. It was an awesome display.
