Glad You're ok!
Kook,
First & formost, I'm glad to hear you are ok, and my thoughts and prayers go out to your friend. Second, I want to thank you for being up front with information concerning the incident. As you well know, I too own a 25' boat capable of speeds into the 80's. I honestly think very few realize how fast chit happens in those situations, and how quickly things can go bad. Funny thing is, there are always people who are convinced that they can drive my boat better than I can. I'm sure some of you have heard statements like...
Let ME drive that bad boy. I'LL show ya how how it's done !!
Some of these folks have never driven anything larger than a 20' open bow runabout with a V6.
Boats like ours demand respect from the driver. I think it's obvious that almost every member of this board understands that respect to at least some extent. Most every racer will agree that Even when things seem in control, they can go south in a heartbeat. I'm glad you came home to share your lesson with the rest of the gang. And I'm glad to see the gang listening without a lot of second guessing. Those of us that have pushed to the edge, (and in some cases found it), know what it's like to get "bitten".
Get back on the water soon guys.
