I wonder how she'd run with a 200hp "inboard" snowmobile motor?

Ive had all kinds of crazy ideas with this thing! My latest Frankenboat idea was to redesign the deck and move the seats and windshield back towards the transom. Then stuff a 200 4.3 V-6 in there with a small driveshaft running under the center between the seats to an Alpha drive! Tell me that wouldnt draw some attention!!!

Sunsation32, I emailed ya and PM'd ya too.

We had a snowmobile that had a twin cylinder 200hp motor that weighed about 80 lbs. If you could figure a way to couple it to a drive I think you'd have a sweet power to weight ratio. Plus the sound of twin pipes coming out the hull and running at 8000 rpm would get some attention!

Hmmm.....twist the engine sideways....raise it up a tad so the clutches could work.......try and incorporate a wet exhaust system from a jetski so engine compartment temp would stay down.........AWE CRAP! Stop this or i'm gonna change my mind for the millionth time!!!

I agree, after having 3 funcats I know these boats pretty well, The idea of an inboard is cool. keeping the weight inside the boat, and putting some real HP in it would make a rough water slingshot. You should have seen the looks from other boaters as we passed them is real rough water, 2 to 3's at 60 mph. Remember this boat is a shrunken copy of one of the best rough water cats ever made, the 30' shadow.

Wally, could you imagine if you could incorperate the clutches? 4500 rpm SMOOTH holeshots and always running at peak hp rpm! WOW, that would be fun!!!

I used to race against those cats. One guy I heard eventually put a 140 OMC engine on one. The boat acted just like the 30 SHADOW. The hull's tunnel began to work at 80+.
The biggest problem racing against them was the barrel rolling in the turns. Other than that, they looked like alot of fun.
