I already run 100 hp with a reliable outboard, so I think I will stick to what works for me.
I did consider taking a 2.5 Merc EFI powerhead and installing it on it's side. Choice of drive??? Ah, I didn't bother with it. The boat runs fast enough.......

If anyone is looking for one I have a 10 ft Cougar Cub with a 25hp Evinrude with a new Myco trailer. It runs about 30mph with me in it. Any one interested can E-mail me at [email protected] or call me at 954-270-2628

I use to race such boats with a 25hp Johnson or Evinrude in what was then called MGP (Mini Grand Prix)in the APBA/OPC devision. This was a class where most tunnel racers got there start if they did not start in Stock Outboard classes on there Knees. Testing with Speedos and a pretty TRICK Prop we saw speeds of anywhere from 45-50 mph. Boats such as the Cougar Cub, Baja Scat Cat, SKeeters and Grand Prix. The Grand Prix were more of a Sport C boat that we put the 25hp rather than a 40hp to run in MGP. It was alot of fun and a good way to get your feet wett in tunnel boat racing.
