Prop repair--Chicago area
Hey guys,
My prop had an intimate meeting with the bottom. It is now in need of some TLC. I need some suggestions as to where in the Chicago metro area to send it for repair. It is a performance stainless prop.

I'll second Air Marine. Jerry has treated me very well over the years. He has been doing my props since 1990. Tell him the Candyman sent you. He also has a demo prop program.

If you are a little farther south. Try Phil's Prop Shop, in Lansing. I've been very happy with his work. He also has an exchange program.
I don't have the number but you can get it from information.

Dave, if you need another source try DAH up near Burlington. I've used him a couple of times with excellent results. He can get backed up though, you'll have to check. John is a real interesting guy with a wealth of information. 262-534-4440. Did this happen boat race nite? Tom

Tom,
Yes it did. I have no idea what I struck. There are no marks on the prop such as would be if I hit bottom or rocks etc. It just folded one blade 180* and another about 90*. It might not be worth saving. I got it from a fellow OSO member for a great price. Air Marine estimated around $200.00 to fix it. I must have hit a log or something. Then on the way home I get stopped as a suspect intoxicated boater because at no wake speed the boat was swinging far left and right and the cops thought I was drunk!! I had a couple but I know better and cannot afford to deal with a DUI. They were cool and just did a "safety inspection"
Thanks for the other suggestion. I will give him a call monday.

P.S. Were you at Blarney's thurs night and if so what kind of boat do you have?
