The cig is a second boat for each of us. Long story short we used be business partners, but no longer. So the boat goes. It is a great boat. I will miss it. If you have any questions please contact me anytime.

I built that 41 Cigarette when I was there. Your numbers are good except that it only weighs 13,000#. Speed is correct. I think that a pair of 465 Yanmars in there would be definitely tits.

Hey Brownie! Always a wealth of knowledge!

Paul Fiore's 37 Outerlimits is at my marina with a pair of CAT diesels(i forget which ones), 2 speed transmissions and Arneson drives...runs close to 80 I'm told!

I gotta get some pics...

Thanks Brownie, that is the wealth of knowledge I was shooting for with this post. Any other interesting morsels about the boat you would share with us? Also any info on the 39 aronow/ USA cat with diesels, speed wise and comfort? I really apreciate it, thankyou!

Sean, that sounds like an incredible setup! Please Post some pics when you get a chance! 80 mph with diesels.

Have you read the article in Boating about the 42' Fountain with Yanmar diesels and surface drives ? Interesting numbers and far lower long term maintenance costs. Steep entry cost.

No I haven't. though when doing research on the yanmar site i saw pics of one with diesel power. Or was it the arneson site? anyway that steep entry cost is my barrier. I am more interested with the older heavies i acknowledge the trade off of speed. but instead of getting a sea ray type express(nice boat but like the offshore styling better) i'd rather be in an older heavy offshore smasher.

Thanks for the response

james
