Don't know how much speed would be lost with a tired motor over the years, but when they were new, the 222 SVC with a 350 mag ran about 55, with a 7.4 330 hp ran around 60, and the 454 mag ran around 65mph. I bought a new Stingray 275XL with twin 350 mags in 1989 from the Stingray factory in Hartsville SC and it ran 65. With Hydromotive nose cones added it bumped up to 67 on the speedo. I raced several 222's on Lake Wylie with the different motor packages and they were good running boats for their day...
