Default yahoooooooo!

I remember that boat, It's a beauty! and Fast. Were the drives modified? Were the 116-118 runs done in the Summertime/ Winter? I heard one could dial a little more hp out of the carb versions with some tuning. Is that correct?

Ali- Youre right, the freeboard above the deckline does give the Skater a little more mass and a cabin. The 36 Skater performs extremely well in rough water and does give you a feeling of a larger boat. I need niether for the type of boating I do. I'm frequently by myself and the Spectre is very easy to get around.

The Gulf while messy sometimes is not like the eastcoast of Fla. I did notice that the 36 Spectre's cockpit has much more space than my friends 40 skater's cockpit, when I do have friends aboard they can see all the action. Cabins don't interest me .....this boat is strictly for rockin the house!

Yahoo..did your raceboat have a cabin?

Mitch Miller set the F2 record with Vortec engines at 106.9 The F1 record was set at 86. something. Invensys had a one way run of 101 and some change but blew an engine on the return trip thus nulifying the run.

The F3-05 Yahoo has a cabin with bed, 5 seats, sunpad, carpets, stereo, mufflers, swim platform etc. It now has 500 EFI's and Bravo XZ's. When low on gas with all this stuff it still runs over 114.

I bought it from Curtis

Default Holy Smokes!

That is fast. Did it have all that when it raced? The Zipp boat has all its seats under the cover ,carpet ect..but no cabin or mufflers.

You must have as much fun as I do when people realize that their 1500+ hp moster just got smoked by a pair of itty bitty 500's. hehe . Do you have tabs/tab on Yahoo?

Thumbs up

I was coming back from Bimini on Saturday and when we got near Govt. cut the swells were 2-4 with a few 5s.. I thought about you as we ran across the tops the boat did well. It was a following sea rather than head on which does make a big difference. When you coming down so we can go for a ride? Are you planning to go to Key West in November?

Maximus, Curtis took out everything they could to race, back seats, bed, sun pad, and installed a 50 lb custom hatch over the rear seat area. The boat spent more time on lake X than any other water. Everything possible at the time was done. Prop selection was limited to Merc. racing over hub cleavers. Lab Bravos and new 5 blades work better.

ALI-CAT, Jeff, we will be in Key west in Nov., but as yet not sure of the transportation system. Keep in touch. You probably haven"t stuffed yet because your butt is so heavy, #6's.
Be carefull.

JB

PS. It has tabs (2), which it doesn't need.
