Reggie Fountain 'King of Offshore' Documentary Coming this Fall

That is without a doubt the worst comparison I have ever read on this forum, or any other. That is akin to saying that Ray Crock and his enterprise (Mcdonalds) is superior to the founder of Ruths Chris (Ruth Fertel) due to the fact that everyone driving a "Looser Cruiser" minivan can assimilate with who Mcdonalds is. The world is full of Lemmings that regurgitate what they see on episodes of Miami Vice (Yes I know they were Scarabs). However, the "common" perception of the lay person, and their subsequent dogmatic ignorant statements regarding their obvious lack of knowledge on the difference between offshore boats in NO WAY dictates who has contributed more to the offshore powerboat industry.

whether you love him or hate him, you have to respect Reggie for all that he has accomplished and done for powerboating. I have known him for a long time, my dad, Ernest Schmidt, gave him the Molinari tunnel boat that he raced way back when. I rigged the red, white and blue 40' that you see at the beginnig of the trailer along with the 47' triple that he raced after that before moving on to Super Hawaii Racing. We had Fountain on the Alcone Motorsports Open Class boat. I have not always agreed with some of what he did but I have never known anyone with the passion and dedication that Reggie has for boats and boat racing and there will likely never be anyone who can match his enthusiasm. long live the King.

had aranow not been murdered, he would have kept offshore racing as we know it in the lime light, even after all the drug running came to light...

It appears the production company that made the documentary also made several other videos paid for by Fountain.

You people need to get a LIFE. Skater HELPED Reggie built a couple of his first race boats, only helping with the lay up process for weight and NOW all you can say about the man is, didn't Skater help build a lot of his boats? Get over it. That was in the early 90s and Reggie built over 10,000 boats. Talk about GOSSIP. You guys take the cake.
