That was the best video posted on this site since...........well, maybe ever. I have absolutely no clue how anyone can compare that to anything going on today.Unfortunately that race was a few years after I stopped racing, but I can tell you I would have loved to have been there. "Offshore" racing has never been about having the fastest boat for 1 mile. Real "Offshore" boats were built to finish and the men and women in them were warriors.
THAT LOOKS LIKE SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!

I have not gone the Michigan City the last two years. The two years before that were nasty, high winds out of the north. JBS had the prop stuck in the back of the boat. One other boat was sinking. One of the racers got hurt I think as well. It could not have been any fun haulin the mail as I was seeing big air by all the boats.

That was Awesome !! Where do I sign up ? Took the Tantrum (25ft) out for a spin today in 2 - 3 slop chop and windy st. lawrence seaway. Felt and probably looked like the Splish Splash guys. I ran about 40 minutes and woulda stayed longer but my fuel guage was all over the place and I've learned the hard way that E is for empty. Was the only boat out there except on my way back in to the marina a guy was leaving on his 37 maxum. 3 miutes later while I was tying up I see him come crawling back in with tail between his legs.
