they pushed it off with a D10 dozer, i think they put a couple of tires between the blade and the hull

The escape hatch is above the water line at rest.
It's possible that the hatch locks got accidentally kicked open while out playing in some big water, and the crew kept going until the hatch was beat off not knowing it was designed above the waterline

That is correct.. the seas were big on the outside and brought it in to saved it from any additional damage. Boat is back on trailer northbound with no damage. Owner was at mostly upset that no one was grilling burgers at the beach.
