Are all lightning POS or just this particular one?. I ask because I don't know much about them. I think there used to feel a Hooters lightning race boat that was successful but that's all I know.

They were direct splashes of the 30' Spectre. The Hooters was successful because of the crew in the boat, but by the time they won there championships the pro stock fields had really thinned out......

I cant say really say about the other boats lightning made but the Hooters boat is built VERY WELL and VERY HEAVY. the boat has been raced most its life and is still rock solid.

the yellow 1 had soft spots all over the deck and the sides were wavy as he!!. The outboards had welds all over the lower units and smashed up cowlings.

I raced in the Yellow one when it was a year old. It would only do 90 with a pair of 2.5's, you could surf on the waves in the hull sides they were so big. The boat was reported stolen and the owner at the time collected from the insurance co. .........
