Who's got some substantial hours on Merc 1100's?
Really interested in the Merc 1100's ,but can't seem to find how many hours are expected before breaking them open.
I have read where they have the longevity of 525's,but what will they need? 525's=top ends and headers. But what will the 1100's need? Complete refresh? And who can do them besides Merc,at probably 50K each?
Thanks Jeff

I stopped at that point because even $50k each is too much for me when I can get my Sterlings done for about $25k for the pair.

The 1350's were designed to last significantly more hours than the 1075's. Most 1075's will need top ends around 50-75hrs and full rebuilds in the 100-150hr range.
I believe that the 1350's were expected to go twice that.

That's what I thought as well. No one has responded with any major problems,so I guess no news is good news. I may try the Mercury blog, and see what the expected hours and cost for rebuilds would be.
Boats like Windship have been around for a few years, and run alot of Poker Runs, any one know how many hours on his 1350's?

We just trade in our cheif 1350's at 257 hours and they checked out perfect
we just couldn't pass up the newest version which produce about 1600 on racing fuel and will run about 1100 on 89 octane
so i have heard from very a reliable person that i know who owns three 1350's you will be lucky to make it to 40 hours
now remember we do run them very hard
when you compare to two different builder the cheif have alot less moving part.
