And the year before that (93) Nigel Hook set the World Kilo Class Record with a Scarab 26 at 93.19.

Great Hull design that has been around a long time...as an FYI you can look under a late 80s Scarab 28 Excel and find the same hull with a swim platformed Excel designed deck.

Cheers,

Dave

Ok, so now the boats fully fitted and been run. Curious how the final weight came out? And how does that compare to the older LS's built that have been raced? I've spent a lot of time in a buddy's 26 CV (600hp and added bulkhead/stinger work to strengthen Wellcrafts family boat layup), and am always amazed at how the LS bottom design handles in rough water - it's a great ride, even when trim tabs are not functioning. The sharp front entry and bottom strake/pad design works extremely well. You can see in this pic of us busting across the Chesapeake Bay, that while my buddy is in full concentration driving, I didn't seem to feel the need to even hang on, lol. More people need to know what this ride is like .

Hey hangtime, I am actually going to look at this boat on Monday. Did he add some bulkheads and stringers to it? I am considering it to turn it into a class6 or 5 boat actually. Wondering if you had any other details on the boat. If you could PM me that would be great. Thank you.

I know people on this board sport wood over the OLs, Skaters, MTI's, etc but if you don't like this boat there's something wrong with you...what a beauty!!!!

Boat looks simply awesome! How fast would it be with a stock Mercury 525? How much $$?
