I night ride all the time with an occasional spot light to verify locations of markers. It's the Thirll of running ShotGun and pray you dont hit something. Tried Night Vision but the Anchor Light and surrounding lights destoryed my view, would probably work on a Lake with your lights turned off.

Heading back towards town in Grand Traverse Bay at night is a white knuckle experience. All the building lights and auto light moving along the shoreline blocks out most navigation lights on other boats plus there's usually a number of small fishing boats anchored or tolling w/o light.
