Got my price quote, the price is right in line in my opinion! I'm thinking these would pay for themselves in 2 seasons in my case

The reason the uppers gears chunk teeth is because there is a stress riser that exists and it is the weak point in the gear. Add in more power and aggressive driving and the clock is ticking faster than a stock motor. The lowers do not have the same issue.

Post #221 has a link to email Mike. He responded to me within 10 minutes. I told him about my set-up and he gave me some great advice. It is worth your time to email Mike.

$2995 bravo version
$3495 SSM

Thats direct pricing right now, will go up if a distributor gets involved.

Last time it cost me over $8K to rebuild my drives , parts were hard to come by and 2 months down the drain.
Bravos were a minimum $3500 to rebuild, at least a month downtime.

Plus the fun factor of running hard..

My vote is an Arneson ASD-6 or ASD-7
I love my drives and they are bullet proof and more roost is much better and no roost!

To me the big thing with surface drives like arnesons or 6s which are great drives is the cost of the props. 3-5k per prop is a hard pill to swallow. Lol

So lets say the XR is rated for about 550 ft/lbs of torque input

Engine already exceeds this and makes 700 ft/lbs of torque

The drive guardian I set around 800 ft/lbs

How really will this help and XR drive from prematurely wearing out when it already wears out prematurely with stock power?

Especially when the high performance community is already BRAINWASHED and TRAINED that we need to BABY our XR drives?

Again, cool product, definitely has its place in the market. Sounds like its a great option to allow aggressive rough water driving (not all pleasure boaters do) for a boat that has equal or less torque to what their drive is rated for.
