To Whom It May Concern; I do poker runs and have never run over 120mph. If my wife is in the boat I never run over 65miles . When we test for shoot outs. It is in a sanctioned area. Ido care about other boaters and I only RACE in shoot OUTS. Thank You Buck Stracener.

To Whom It May Concern: I do All my testing on Lake Elsinore in a sanction race area early in the morning. there are no other boats in area except my friend in our response boat. Ido care about other boaters. Ilove to race and only do so at shoot outs. thank you Buck Stracener

You know, on the one hand I’ve got to congratulate everyone involved in this project on the results they’re seeing. That’s one heck of an impressive number they’ve put up. Just ten years ago a number like that was unthinkable.
On the other hand, I have a concern. I would propose that top speeds have increased at a rate far greater than safety. What this means is that more and more boats are going far faster than they are capable of being safely driven. This puts not only the driver and passengers at serious risk, but also puts anybody else who happens to be out for a spin on the same body of water at risk.
It’s hard enough picking out and avoiding obstacles (wakes, waves, debris, kayakers, etc.) at 100 MPH. Now speeds of 150 MPH and more are getting all too common. There are a very small number of people capable of driving a professionally rigged, full canopy race boat on a closed course at that kind of speed. The number of recreational boaters capable of the same feat in a non-canopied boat on an open lake is zero.

As much as I understand your concerns, How is this any different than a guy in an open hydro doing 200 on a river, small lake etc,?
And they have been doing it for 15 years already if not longer.
I guess that is the beauty of the High Performance world, Boat, Cars, Bikes, Trucks etc.
they are unique to the personality and wallet that creates them.
We all no the risk, when we push the sticks,... it's a personal choice at that point.

So what is the speed at which things become too fast? Buck has been running 140 plus safely for years and all that I've heard is crickets chirping. Is 150 the to fast number? Is he more dangerous at a sanctioned event than the average guy going 90 plus on any given weekend at LOTO? I think not.

I would rather have buck on the water doing 150 In a sanctioned event than half the drunk bastards leaving party cove and seeing how fast they can go from one end of the lake to the other with a million other boaters and family's on the water. He is running in a no wake area were spectators are way off the course and there are medivac people sitting near by. That is what a shootout is all about.... Top Speed! Buck is not a amature that just jumped into a 150mph boat and threw the sticks to the dash. He has worked his way up to this speed over many years. Buck is about the most helpful nicest guy you could ever wanna meet. Full of knowledge and will go way out of his way to lend a hand to a fellow boater. This is what this sport is all about! Congratulations Buck and thank you for all the help last year! See you this shootout! Oh and welcome to OSO!

To whom it may concern: I have been doing shoot out for 10 year sand have never hurt any one. I live in southern Calif. and do all my boat testing on Lake Elsinore they have a test area in the middle of the lake. The only other time I run WOT is at shoot outs. Further more Icare very much about my fellow boaters and would give a helping hand to any one in need. Thank you Bock Stracener
