Excess Energy is almost finished with a 41' Velocity that should run north of 120 mph . His project is powered by Ford PSI motors , should be in the water by the end of June

I believe this is the build you are talking about.

Absolutely amazing! It's a shame these type of build threads are hidden all over OSO.

You are absolutely right about these threads getting lost in the mix, and it is really a shame. I was just turned on to your thread and now the Velocity one as well. The wealth of knowledge on this site never ceases to amaze me, you have in some cases people helping complete strangers with things that they would never be able to do themselves or even know where to begin. There are very well respected engine builders among others who come on here and offer free advice to anyone who is willing to listen and that in itself is invaluable to someone like myself who has enough knowledge to be dangerous but doesn't know all of the ins and outs of everything.

Just got word the CGS is almost done. It got a fresh paint job. Got rigged with #5's and the N/A 900's are gonna be put in it really soon. It wont be the fastest V anymore but I bet the old girl still runs in the teens with its new set-up.

Would like to see how "Smokin' Joe" would do with staggered 1650's and some 8's

Yep, ours is a twin step. Bobs 41 Velocity should put up some good numbers, and so should Jason's 43 with arnesons. I think the only thing that would hold back these two kick ass boats for an all out speed number is that they are side by side and not staggered..... But, the side by side is much nicer for recreational use. It's always a trade-off!

Side by side doesn't seem to slow down a velocity due to the pad bottom. We discussed this earlier in the week. EEs boat could go way over 120. Will the 5s even hold up?
