Default 1997 Outerlimits 47' 'Four of a Kind' info

Heard it sank at Harborfest in Oswego 1999ish from accidental full reverse? Had quad 1000hps and surface drives. Saw it on eBay for $30k with trailer, would make a good advertising piece. Can't find any pics of it before it sank, just one of it nose up and one display board pic. Just curious if anyone knew anythjng about it

Don't mean to stir up "ancient history" but wasn't that boat one of the many that was involved in the insurance fraud that was a many, many page thread on here a couple of years ago. Maybe not, just thinking out loud.

Not fraud. The boat was insured as stock configuration. Back in that time you could insure a boat like that from state farm, liberty mutual, or all state. However the boat showed in the "system" was how it was insured. Obviously 4 1100 hp with giant surface drives was not how it showed in the system.

So basically they denied the claim on a 2 year old boat that was basically totaled, under the premise that it had been highly modified and those modifications could have been part of the reason that it sank. I think weight was one of the issues the insurance company had. However, I have seen two other stock runabout boats sink in that same river backing up against the current with too much throttle applied quickly.

Not sure if he ever got paid, but also not sure he even needed the money. This is the same guy that bought "extreme exhibit" shortly after

This is a hi-jack alert.......I've never read the Card Shark thread all the way through because it's just too freaking long, so this was very interesting reading for me. Am I correct in my assumption that the Joe Sgro that was charged and plead guilty in connection to boat thefts and also paid $850,000 in restitution is the same Joe Sgro that owns the 43 Outerlimits that just set the fastest vee boat record? Really?
