Watching by land had a better overall view of the course.
You can walk the docks and see the raceboats up close and personal and talk to the racers.
We watched from the dam for a while and it got pretty hot last year. Consider bringing your own shade if you have folks along that don't take the heat as well.

True 3-5 foot washing machine before and after the races. IMO, much too rough for an 18' CC.

We watched from Beaver's and the Iguana Vendor Village point area on Sunday last year and it wasn't too bad.

If you put in at Berger's your going to be right where the races are being run and they will have a "No Wake" for a 1/2 mile or more before and during the race... Last year we had quite a few small boats tooling around and even an Amphicar which can't take any large waves... I think you'd be fine in the CC.... Jim

100% agree Dont worry about being too small. Boats out every weekend 18-22 ft. And I live at the 14 1/2 mm. So its busy here..

No no no no no no.

Sorry but no. I've been there with an 18' bow rider, and its awful. Just kidding, It's actually the worst experience I've ever had on a lake. 3-5 foot swells is not at all exaggerating and it can get worse when the ocean liners pass each other. It's neat to see all the boats and if social drinking is your thing then by all means, its easier to handle if you're wasted. I would strongly reconsider if you have a small boat and plan to enjoy a nice day of boating.

Stick to the docks and shorelines if you want to come out unscathed.

I have no idea what you are trying to say, however, like Jim said, he will be fine if he puts in at Berger's. He will be in the no wake zone the entire time.

"Run what you brung" sounds like an entry level class for people with 30' boats and under trying to get into the racing scene, guess it's just a new name for "unlimited"

Well I survived my first day... Just watched the recovery skater make a few laps in frontof shady gators..boat is beautiful and sounds good.. Hell there is pontoons running around everywhere.

Definitely rough but Im glad I brought the cc.... Definitely more capable than I thought.

That is exactly what I was thinking when I read the title of the thread. I had a momentary thought of older 32' Skaters, 38' Cigarette, 40' Fountain raceboats, and a some 38' Hustlers, 41 Apache, and any other older raceboat, or unique pleasure boat..This is the run how deep your pockets are class.

I like the field of boats, but unlimited is a more appropriate title like you said.
