Looking to possibly swap out K-planes for Arneson rocker plates, has anybody used them before, does anybody have a set they would part with?

I haven't heard of anyone using them, but interesting design/theory.

What makes you interested in possibly making the change? I'm assuming you have 380 K-planes on your boat now?

I like the concept and the fact that it mounts flush with the bottom of the boat and to increase down force it curves down instead of making an angle like a k plane.

Anybody who knows anything about fluid mechanics will tell you the water flows by that bend a lot easier than it does with an angle like a k plane, while still providing the down force.

Plus anytime you can remove a Mercury part from the boat you are winning.......

We used the Arneson trim plates for a a couple of years. They worked ok, but on our 30' straight vee they really preformed similar to the 280's that we had put on the shelf. We took off the Arneson tabs and got the 380 plates and put the Mercury tabs back on the boat. On our boat, the 380's work the best. The 380's give us more control in the bumps and we can run them parallel with the bottom in 1-2' water from 50-80 MPH with the drives all the way out. In bigger water or more speed we generally run drives out but drag the tabs 2-4 tab positions from level...balls get smaller at 80-90+ :-)
Bottom line, IMO the 380 tabs give you more flexibility but are not really necessary unless the are running hard in the bumps.

Curious about the Vertical SS pieces attached to the slide of the Arneson's plates also....

Our Cig has Arneson Rocker plates and they seem to work great, the boat runs so good I rarely use them much or they work so good or a combination of both.

We also have the fins that are to help turn I believe Tres Martin likes them and Sunsation uses them also on new boats.
