Tim is right on all of the above. Best thing that happened to you was the owner declined the offer! Lol

That was an act of God. The light is shining down on you now. You have a second chance.

Buy something with the new Merc 1100s with and 6 place open cockpit and you will be happy for years to come.

I came from a 32' Crownline with a top speed of 58mph to a 40 Skater with 1100 blower motors. Just be smart and take your time and have experienced people teach you.

With the 1100s you get a reliable, fun, and safe package.

I don't know your budget, but doing some math you will be so much more money ahead buying an open cockpit boat with Merc power.

I was fortunate enough to run in SummerOs new MTI with Randy S, and Scott from CPR. We some interesting discussions about the 1100s and 1350s. Those motors scared me away initially because of the potential cost to rebuild. However, both pointed out that 1) you are going to get almost double the hours between rebuilds and 2) once you rebuild them they come with a year warranty. Putting it in perspective, it's almost a wash financially AND you get a 1 year warranty.

If it hasn't been mentioned, check on insurance availability for yourself before picking a boat/power package. That can be the determining factor sometimes, unfortunately.

Jeremy had that 46 Cig AMII for a few years.. Its a 100+ mph boat….
I have no doubt that you'll have no trouble handling a cat safely…
Running that cig at big speeds takes a lot more effort and nerve than the cat at even 150…
Your insurance man will likely require you to take a safety course with Brad or Tres, which certainly isn't a bad thing for anyone.

The LOTO shootout is coming up in a couple weeks.. Come on out Jeremy.. It's a great place to size up your options.

Elmer is a good friend of mine.... the boat he has is well known as the ex Bacardi Silver and now Wicked..... if you are worried about a canopy or 700's not being enough or being in over your head money wise.... it's not the boat for you...someone who wants that boat is a specific buyer just like an Apache buyer.... there are 18 different views on the worth of a piece of equipment it comes down to how bad you want that boat.... I don't know off the top of my head of a boat that has been gone through and is as in mint shape as Wicked....on the other hand here is a great deal http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o57533-en.html and you are boating tomorrow ........ but what do I know all I have is a canoe :P
