New Guy Here! But I have been running carbed blower motors for many years, start great, idle nice, and make decent power, run AFRs a bit rich at WOT on purpose for those extra (non planned) long WOT blasts, but I just can't justify the cost. But my advise to OP would be go for it if it's in the budget!!

Local guy here is huge with the holley systems in fact I think he has played parts in helping them test and develop stuff. He tuned the holley dominator in my 1100hp street driven mustang on e85

Seems like sometimes carbs can work great like in Mild Thunders case (badazz engines in person) and other times they are annoying. Jason had great luck with his home built EFI Blower engines. They run, idle, and shift smooth as silk while still making a conservative 1100hp on pump fuel!
Great thread worth the read and he has about 20 more pics to share with us if we just motivate him to do so!

My neighbor has a 37 outerlimits with twin Keith Eickert motors that started life around 650 and are now around 850 with big blowers, chillers, and EFI (older FAST system if I remember correctly.) The motors still blower roll like crazy, stall occasionally, and don't seem to run any better than carb motors. The boat goes like a bastard, 113 on GPS, but I am not seeing where the benefit of EFI is on these motors, and I am a big fan of EFI myself.
Now, if it was a multiport system instead of a TBI system, it would be a different animal. But doing that would require different blowers as these depend on fuel for cooling and lubrication. I think in his case well tuned carbs would run exactly the same.

I made the jump from carbs to fuel injection before I made the jump from drag cars to boats. For a roots blower though, I can definitely see the attraction for ease of use with carbs even though I'm a port-injection fan.

1100 Sterling Blower motors
93 Octane
2 summers of watching the Mercury guys cus this or that sensor as we keep boating. Very friendly around the docks. Never dies/stalls/lunges. Starts on the first pull every time. We idled 4 miles in the no wake during the Shootout with 100+ degree temps with no issues.
We did just acquire some Sterling EFIs to use as a second set. I'm very excited to see how this all shakes down. We are going to rig the boat to accept either set, plug and play depending on........hopefully just our mood and not a break down.

Something like this may have room to weld in bungs at a slight angle below a super chiller and 10-71
