Thanks. You would be adding a 47 Fountain with triple 525's.

For further clarification.

The official course length is 271 miles.

The course starts off Port Washington and covers the Long Island Sound heading east.

Around the end of Long Island heading south.

Now heading east after rounding Montauk.

Straight shot along the beach heading west toward the city.

Up the East river and under the bridges back toward Port Washington.

Dry and wet pits in past races have been at Guy Lamotta's marina in Port Washington. Guy was a former racer and good friend of Don Aronow. The pace boat has been Guy's 53 foot Magnum.

We will need to carry extra fuel, what do you think is the best approach to adding tanks, and what companies do you recommend to build one?

We use these if ferrying an airplane over the ocean, and it doesn't have the range with its factory tanks:

Yes, that is correct. I'm assuming there would be some fuel stops.. Adding extra fuel tanks not really an option for me..

Charlie. all the best to you and everyone in this endeavor. I would love to do it. I have ALL the confidence in the boat, (hack .. it's a banana descendent lol ) a little less in the motors and drives. My problem is the logistics getting the Lady to NY and back to Fl. entry fee or the price $ is not an issue, finishing would be a major accomplishment. However, if some one wish to partner and drag the Lady to NY and back, I would seriously conceder it. And I would give a "run for their $" to anyone in the same class. The Avanti carries 250Gal of fuel, just on the boarder line to make the 271 mile distance. With some safety tanks or ? I doubt I would need to refuel. OR... lol Option 2.... Some one from "Upstate" wants to buy her (it is up for sale) I would go for the ride, and show what this hull can do.

Going for the overall win with all the knowledge you and Dave picked up in the Bimini race?
It would be nice to add another trophy to the one i have from the bimini race.
