There is a boat around here, I dont think the guy could make up his mind paint wise, so he did EVERYTHING! The boat had flames, fades, lightning bolts, tribal, stripes, polka dots, ghosting, 457 different colors, flags etc........

you speak of the Stinger that was up by the highway for sale? lol you forgot the spider webbing and reptile scales it also had. yeah . . . . that thing would be cool . . . . in 1975 . . . . on a van lol.

I agree with the less is more on older boats especially it it has a windshield rather then a fairing.

Do what you like.....

.....but remember, you have to sell that thing someday. If it's too 'unique,' nobody will buy it.

White always works; with or without accents. And no checkerboards.

I think Cig has done a great job lately of doing clean classy paint jobs that accentuate the lines of the boat. That is the way I would go especially for a restoration of an older boat.

After owning all color combo of boats thru-out the years, I've come to just wanting a white boat, especially in the FL. sun! It's cool to the touch, and easy to clean. Sorry not much help in your color/pattern input....
