Prop Storage
I am looking for storage containers to keep my props in. Right now we are storing all of our props in the original boxes, but they are become worn out and are beginning to get beyond duct tape rapair!
I have seen the ad in Powerboat for the soft storage bags/cases (called the prop cop) from Top Knot. It states in their ad that these bags/cases are 15" in diameter, but my props are 15 1/4". Does anybody use these and does anybody know if they will work for a 15 1/4" prop?
I have also seen some hard sided storage cases in the past, but am unable to locate any sources now. I would prefer a hard-sided storage box, but will use the others if that is the only thing available. What is everybody else using? Does anybody have any leads on storage boxes that will protect the props while not on the boat? I need storage for 8 props.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've got a piece of schedule 80 thickwall water pipe about 5 feet long. It hangs from the ceiling of my storage shop like a clothes hanging rod. I can take either end loose and slide props on and off

I manage a plant that does heavy duty industrial sewing both commercial and for the Department of Defense. One of our products is the air cargo bag that gets dropped out of aircraft.
I purchased a Prop Cop bag and while it is well made, I thought it could use some improvements. I did not like that the lid would not stay up by itself and that the prop was not secured in the bag so.....I have had my crew make a protytype which I have been testing. It has 1/2" closed cell PVC foam padding and 800 denier nylon both inside and out. It also has straps that prevent the prop from moving inside the bag.
I need to make some minor changes and then will be offering it up for sale. I plan on contacting Offshore Only Admin about the possability of The Offshore Store carrying it.
By the way, we are a not for profit agency that serves and employs the disabled. To look at some of our products we manufacture, go to
