Phil Collins buys Don Aronow's waterfront mansion for 33 million!
http://www.miamiherald.com/news/busi...e24633664.html
Phil Collins just bought himself Another Day in Paradise — and it only cost him $33 million.
The British-born rocker on Monday bought a seven-bedroom Miami Beach mansion once owned by Jennifer Lopez. The 12,150-square-foot villa at 5800 North Bay Rd. includes 200 feet of bayfront, a wine cellar, a summer kitchen and a pool.
J. Lo sold the mansion in 2005 for $13.9 million to healthcare entrepreneur Mark Gainor and his wife Elyse, according to county property records. The couple had listed the home for $40 million in 2010, the Wall Street Journal reported at the time.
“The grounds are the star of the whole thing,” said broker Nelson Gonzalez, who represented the seller. “The lot is about 53,000 square feet with a downtown view and the previous owners brought in about 80 royal palm trees and it luckily already had two beautiful huge banyan trees. There’s also a 6,000-gallon Japanese koi pond.”
The mansion also once belonged to Don Aronow, the millionaire speedboat mogul who was gunned down by a hitman in 1987 on the orders of rival powerboat racer Benjamin Kramer

14mm is a lot of scratch.......but if you had a mortgage it would be 66K a month.....almost 8mm in payments after 10 years. Taxes are 212K a year (another 2mm) then insurance (wouldn't surprise me if it was 100K a year, house built in the 1920's, flood zone etc)....another 1mm after 10 years.......that is an 11mm burn with zero spent on maintenance, remodeling, utilities etc. While he scored millions (net)......that number could sway to a loss really quickly if you didn't hit your 33mm sale price.
