Default The longest ICW trip?

We live in Myrtle Beach now and the inter coastal waterway is at our back door. Was wondering if any of you guys have take a long trip on it? Is there any place that is a must visit or see? Has there even been a group of OSO members that have done something like a poker run up or down? I'm guessing there are alot of no wake zones. Thanks

Fort Meyers to Jacksonville, in and out of ditch with side trip to Keys and Bahamas. Great way to kill a month.
You may be able to hook up with some passing through for the Offshore Finals in the Keys. Seems there is a group or two that come from the North.

Go big!! Do the loop take the ICW to NY come across the Great Lakes to Chicago then the Illinois River to the Mississipppi and TenTomnwTerway to the Gulf down the the Keys and back home. A guy did it on a JetSki a few years ago and cruisers do it all the time

Look up some of member "GLH" 's old posts. He's made the trip from Vermont to FL several times in his Azimut, and once years ago in a 29' Fountain.

Pretty sure BobtheBuilder has some long distance experience in the ditch!

He did it last year! Missed jumping on the Mutt in Miami by a day.

That would be a straight trip of a lifetime. I'd prefer to do it in a 40 something sport cruiser though.

There are a large number of slow speed zones on the AICW.
The trip from Lake Worth to Port Everglades took me five hours
the last time I made it. On the outside it is less than an hour.
There are many slow speed zones in GA and SC. There is
a set of locks in VA.
