Typical magazine story and typical dumb dyno test - they did not go past peak.

Doesnt look like it really falls off at all if you can believe chevys site...I would still prop for 6k. It makes an NA boat more fun to drive

I was very interested in buying this boat for a very long time. Seems like a lot of bang for the buck. Get the details worked out and you are gonna have one hell of a fast boat. Did the previous owner set the heads up for marine use?

Great information so far guy's, I really appreciate it. So at this point I should be checking my total timing, should it be 36 like Chevy recommends? And should I drop in prop pitch to get more rpm's? Is the X to low at even with the bottom, should I be going up?

I would definitely check the timing. Most people run the zz572 at 5400-5800 rpm.

36 degrees? Or is that to much for marine use?

36 might be a bit much but I'll let the experts chime in. I would think 34 would be safe.

The dyno test in the rag mag was 33° if that matters. Which it usually doesn't.LOL.
