Metro Beach Boat Show - who's going and when??
The Fall Boat Show at Metro Beach starts tomorrow - who's going? And more importantly, who can I beg rides from?
The Mrs and I are probably going to go on Friday....

Yeah,
We will go, when I can squeeze it in. If the weather is lousy on Sunday, that will be the day. Except for Sunsation, Baja, and Formula, I don't expect to see many new go fast boats there as ususal.

I'll be at the Mt. Clemens Power Squadron table on Sunday from 3-6. Stop by and say hi. (And, no, the guy I'll be working with is NOT Bill272. Bill's going to be golfing) This was a way for me to get free parking and free entrance into the show...
I think you're right about the lack of performance boats, WK. I think with the still-weakened economy, the dealerships think they can move entry-level boats faster than the bigger boats. That's what we saw at the spring show, anyway.

As is the norm, we'll be there is full display with the new Innovator, a 32 and 288 Mid-Cabin Open Bow windshield models and a 288 closed bow with an absolutley killer graphic on land to display. Stop by and say hello - we always enjoy meeting fellow OSO'rs
Pray for good weather since we have only one weekend for the show since they shortened it to 5 days.

The weather looks to be iffy on Thursday/Friday, but nice this weekend. We figured we'd come during the week, miss the crowds, and maybe scam a ride or two from one of the friendly local Algonac, Michigan high performance boat manufacturers - not mentioning any names (hint, hint Dave )....
At this point, we're shooting for Thursday afternoon if the weather looks good, otherwise it will be Friday.
I'm interested to see what McMachen brings to the show now that they are the local Formula dealer, and to see if Fountain is there at all, now that JB is no longer a Fountain dealer.

I will be there Saturday at 11. We are putting together a fun run for the day. We are going to meet at the back of Metro, walk around the show for an hour and then head out. We will be leaving at noon. Check out this thread for more info.
