Know Who Makes A Twin OB Vee W/Windshield?
I don't know why it is so hard to find a boat with a windshield, I think I've found every brand under the sun and just can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Plain and simple the Mrs will not be happy without one. I LOVE progressions, but no shield. . The only boat out there seems to be a checkmate, but quite honestly I can't afford new, and there just haven't been enough of them out there that I can find a used one. My max is probably 80k but by no means do I "have" to spend that. I'm open to older boats that cost less that are in great shape too. I've never owned an OB boat but am attracted to the efficiency and reliability of the set up, and quite frankly would just like to try something different.
If anyone knows of boat that has eluded my search let me know. Ideally I'm looking at a 27+ so I can sleep aboard a time or two a year. A mid 80's boat would be ideal!
Fallback is a cat, owned them before. Spectre would fit the bill, or motion, with their canopy models but I have to have a small cabin :/

Velocity made a couple of these late model 320 SUB that were OB Boats. This one has been for sale for awhile so he might deal on it. There's also a red one out there with 300XS motors, but I believe it recently sold. Both boats were here in Florida. They have a very usable cabin, with A/C and enough room for 2 to sleep.

There's also the Concept 30SD which is also a nice boat. There's been a couple of them for sale recently also.

John, message sent. That Velocity is pretty cool, as is the concept, I do not however see those boats getting into the 80's on a regular basis. Also, I've already made the argument of the bug deflector type windshield.
I do not want to buy another fountain or formula IO just for the shield.

Small shield, cabin, twins, needs a repower to make hay at 80... $37k

Fairing with lip screen, cabin, twins, also need a big hp repower to run 80s... $37k

Sonic made the 30ss with a windshield, but most are high 60s/low 70s
You may want to call Kevin at Progression and ask about the feasibility of adding a windshield to a used 27 if you found one. I'd think it'd be possible, but it may look a little goofy, but you'd get your 80+ speeds. I have a 24 High Deck and at 6'1 I can't see over the windshield when sitting in the back seat.
If I wanted 80's from a 27ish twin o/b, I'd be far more concerned about the quality of the hull and interior, and I'd figure on swallowing a $40k+ invoice for a pair of 300XS motors. If I wanted a taller windshield, I'd figure on another $2-4k to add height and powdercoat the revised shield.
