We made contact with the owners. They say it is.
I have no reason to doubt it. An Aqua gel deck would confirm it.

Your 4th photo: Wellcraft Believe It! is the most iconic photo of the Miami Vice Scarab. Had that on my wall for years.

He said he's always wanted to do something like that, but was waiting for the right project.

Any thoughts?
Definitely interested. Perhaps the time lapse release can be delayed until he completes the last covert restoration project in the background.

Renewed talk of the Miami Vice boats is giving me a buyer's itch.

It will be at least a year before the hull would be going to Dave.
Would most likely go in the same slot Brian's Vice edition was in, so a camera would only pick up that corner.
The beauty in the opposite corner would be out of frame

The reason we started the fb page was to put these boats back on the radar and into capable hands.
Too many were purchased by people with no idea what they were getting into. They're in over their heads, so the boats sit and rot
With the registry, we've been able to keep track of the ones we've found and get them into the right hands.

Wayne, be careful with the compass. My boat stays outside in the cold for the winter and for some odd reason, the glass on my compass broke and spider webbed and the direction is now completely wrong. I have no idea why it is pointing in the wrong direction. I never even noticed mine to see it is has the Wellcraft logo on the card.

BIG SIGH OF RELIEF!

The "Secret" is out of the bag!!!!

I learned about Star 2 at the exact time Wayne did as the former owner's son contacted us on Facebook. At first I thought ; "here we go again....another, my dad owns a Miami Vice boat" but damn.....it turned out legit.

Wayne had talked about "Star 2" for years before that moment so I knew to let him go for it......we have been under a "gag" order for over 3 years as this drama continued before he took possession. Wayne and I have tracked down 100's of leads of various boats, edition and show boats. Its been a wild ride.

I bought my 38KV Vice Edition in 2007. I have made many excellent friends on OSO and our FB page talking about these boats. Looking forward to the restoration thread--and a Vice Boat get together if we ever have one!

We know of a few Vice Edition boats that may be under restoration or rather in NEED of restoration. One was on eBay a few months back "Wild Wild West" I believe the seller was talked into restoring the boat after he checked out our Facebook page.

....AND BEFORE YOU SMART GUYS GET ANY IDEAS.....I ALREADY HAVE FIRST DIBBS on STAR 2 if Wayne ever decides to sell....which I doubt he ever will. However the next "barn find" Vice Scarab will be my next purchase!
