Question OT: Houston Area Fun?

My wife and I will be traveling to the Houston area on Oct. 4 thru the weekend. Any suggestions on places to visit and things to do while we are there? I will be there for the weekend and she has to stay most of the week for business.

Thanks!

Gotta hit the Kemah waterfront on a saturday or sunday afternoon!

Maybe see the new stadium! You got NASA space center!

I'm sure you'll have some more help on this one!!

Enjoy!!

I'll second Kemah and NASA. The Clear Lake area is where a bunch of the boats are. Hit the Turtle Club for drinks and karaoke (or a band). Also Moody Gardens in Galveston is kind of neat - IMAX, aquarium, indoor rainforest, etc. The Texas Renaissance Festival opens that weekend. It's just a bit north of Houston. If your wife is into shopping, there's the Galleria (lots of high-end stores and an ice skating rink) and a trip west out I-10 to Katy Mills might be good.

I'll also be going to Houston on 9-29-02 for about 4 days. I heard Lances Turtle Club is where a lot of the hot rod boats hang out. Any truth to that?

Whiteknuckle - You are correct! The Turtle Club is THE place on Clear Lake.
