I love my 27 fever and had a 32 with twins. As someone said above,, 29 with a single is the ticket. My cabin is just a storage bin but appreciate the small size to tow with my 1/2 ton truck. Twins are sweet but too much to deal with for a few miles per hour. Good Luck.

Love my 27' Fountain. I had a 29' prior to this and yes it handled a lot better. Both have close to the same power and the 29' took a lot longer to plan. 2' IMO made a big difference in docking. 27' is a tad lighter to pull (you may have mentioned what your tow vehicle is earlier but I haven't read every post). If you have a 1500, the 27 will push its limit but is still doable. Pros and cons to both. Not sure if I would go back to the 29 if I had the chance (my 27' is newer and few more nice accessories may be the reason though). Can't comment on the other boats so my advise is one sided. I don't think you would be disappointed with a 27 Fountain.

I would sell my mint condition 271 Fastech with a 713hp Hp Holley EFI motor on a Myco trailer for 45K and it also has XR drive,HP gimbal,Full Imco hydraulic steering and Merc 280 tabs,pop-up mechanical indicators, monster gauges, and huge list of custom parts . Everything has less than 20 hours on it. 80+ mph full of fuel and passengers. Jeff Wurl

I was in the same situation . I limited myself to a Fountain or Formula 27. I found a dealer that had both side by side and compared . The Formula is a much larger boat. The outside cockpit size of a 27 Fountain is ridiculously small. If you have any size to you, getting behind the wheel is tight. A 27 fountain was out of the question. The Formula 271 is equal to the size of a 29 Fountain actually may be slightly larger. If you are actually going to use your boat get the Formula or 29 Fountain. A big plus for the Formula is that the only thing that is wood in the boat is the transom. Fountain is all wood construction. A fountain is roughly 3-4 miles per hour faster with the same power. Not a big deal. I don't know what you are looking to spend but I am thinking of selling my Formula Fastech 27. It is a true 85mph boat full of fuel and passengers (715hp). Boat is beyond mint condition with a bunch of custom stuff. Send me a PM if interested. Jeff Wurl

Yeap. The 29 babay. Never had one..But it's better than a Formula IMO, I sure miss my 27 at times..Great little tow along boat.. That's just it though. It's a little boat unless it's on the trailer
