I was fortunate to see the boat when I was at Skater working on my seat placement. We all went out and had lunch together. Tyson was there working on the boat himself the whole time. It was cool to meet him and talk about the project. He's a very nice guy and his ideas are really cool. The video of the trailer is awesome. I know roughly what a tilt is for my 318 and I bet this thing with all the engineering going into it probably has a higher value than my whole rig does. Ha. And Im not joking.

The guy who is having this turbine boat built had someone else build him a tilt trailer for it, but it would not pick up this boat before they had even started adding the rigging weight to the boat. I think they carried a zero to the wrong place on there leverage calculations. So now the boat is rigged and was sitting here so we decided to see if my trailer would pick it up. Not a problem as you can see.

The turbine boat was close to the fenders and mine is taller so we have taken the cradle back off and are changing the bunk placement to move the boat farther away from the fender when tilted.
This is the difference with this thread and most build threads. People make mistakes, or just redo stuff because they did not like how it was going. We want everything to be as good as it can so if we have to redo something then we will and don't have to worry about it. We have nothing to hide. When we start doing runs we will be live on tv and if something breaks everyone will know, but that is part of doing something extreme and pushing the limits. My boat is pushing the limits of trying to be legal size going down the road and it's not going to fit quite right so we are changing the trailer to make it fit right.

Gotta love these guys! Awesome work and engineering trying cutting edge stuff. What you have to love about Skater and there people is they get it done.
Great job Tyson! This will be the all time build OSO for a long time to come if not forever!

As an engineer/manufacturing guy, this is awesome!
How tall do you anticipate the boat to be on the trailer? Pucker factor when you go under bridges for sure! 13'-4", 13'-6"?

Forget navigating the world..........too much for me
Forget running a 50 ft Skater.........out of my league
Forget operating this trailer.............my MIT mail away degree hasn't arrived yet!
I'm just just going to try and tag along on this thread!

Does the engine oil get drained when a boat is being trailered on a tilt trailer? At that angle it looks like oil would eventually seep past the rings.
Never mind, just found this thread that covers my questions http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...parations.html
