Wire for my bilge pumps. I'm trying to keep wire colors matching where I have to extend them. We increase the wire gauge when extending wires to make up for the voltage drop. I am using crimp connectors with adhesive heat shrink ends. And then going over it with heat shrink that has the adhesive in it also. My connections should never corrode or come loose.

I buy some tools and stuff at harbor freight but heat shrink is not something you want to buy at harbor freight. If you need heat shrink for something get it from an electrical supply store and don't buy the cheapest stuff they have. Get the stuff that has some thickness to it and has the adhesive in it.

Ck out the 3m stuff. It is really good. We use a lot of it. Has a good shrinkage rate as well.
Just curious how big are the pumps you guys are using.
Back in the day racing 28' skaters we had a 4000gph capacity per side in case of stuffing the boat.
Those pumps under load draw a lot of current.
If they are big pumps wire size might be a little small based on the blue butts only going to 14awg.
Just an observation
Also are you guys running fuse blocks or resettable breakers?

Tyson, just wondering why you didnt choose to go with a mil spec quick disconnect for the bilge pumps? Or even a weather pack connector to make changing items out that go bad quick and painless?

I have mil spec connectors I was going to use on everything so it would be easier to replace stuff but in the end there is good and bad about having connectors instead of hard wired. I decided the solid connection would be better for what I'm doing and if I need to replace something on a run I can temporary it in till I have time to hard wire it. I have service loops of wire at each end to make it easier to replace stuff.

We use these at work and on my RZR for a watertight connection. Crimp them and hit with some heat. It solders the connection and heat shrinks at the same time. There are several different manufacturers of these.

I use those too, in case there is a 2 into 1 splice I squeeze dielectric grease into the butt connector before inserting the wire and crimping
