Personally I don't think it was a pearl color looks almost like a neon orange and there are disclaimers on most of that stuff not to expect it to last long in UV.

Either way like SL said cheap part of that boats total cost. I wonder what is next for it?

Yea, all candies do that in the sun. Ain't nothing new. They're fine as long as you take care of them. Like, don't leave them to bake in 100 degree sun for a year. Lol

I don't feel like going back through the articles to find it but there is some information on the paint in one of them. Some special stuff that couldn't even be produced in the US supposedly.

So in other words, 2 drops of unobtainium orange were added to a gallon of regular candy fluorescent orange paint?

The reason it was painted Traffic Cone Orange was to alert anything in its path, ie. boat ,planes , Cuban refugees on inter tubes .
And it was a good thing they did, being the Blistering speeds it ran through the 9 foot waves to break the record .

Unfrtanately the neon paint couldn't stand the pounding , and it fell off in micro increments on the run.

They should be thankful .

It was at those kind of speeds that the Rawhide came apart.

But it didn,t

After all we are talking about an APACHE.

Uh Huh Uh Huh. --Oh Yea
