So you choose one that you think is a fast hull, hoping to be right and not make the mistake to have chosen a too slow hull, right? and for lenght, off course the shorter the faster in smoother water but the longer one will have an advantage when rougher stuff... right again? No need to choose a stepped hull to be fast ?

As crazy as it sounds sometimes a longer hull is faster in smooth water !!! Extra length with steps can be more efficient with the same power. Longer is always better in big water !!!! I swear its the guy's in the boat that make the biggest difference. Many a good hull has been passed over because team that raced it were not up to the challenge. A great team can make a average hull shine IMO.
