Bunk carpet scratched my boat
Replaced the carpeting on the bow pulpet(sp?) blocks with a scrap from the carpet store. After powering the boat on the trailer like usual, there are serious scratches on the bow of the boat from the carpet. Like someone took a sanding block with lots of presure right through the paint and in some places the gel coat. No doubt it came from the carpet. The carpet is still in place, and the staples are still attached. It did not shift or bunch up.
Obviously this is the wrong kind of carpet. Can anyone shed some light on this? What's the right kind of carpet? What materials? This is going to be expensive to repair, and I don't want it to happen again.

Chart call the Crew at Castaline Marine aka South Florida Trailers. Have the measurements that you need and he will send ya the good stuff. I got mine from him and it is real good stuff. For now can you maybe drop a towle on there to keep it from scratching?

If the boat isn't wenched in tight and can't move- no matter what carpet you use it will wear into the boat. The boat must be tight against the blocks and not alowed to move while trailering.
