OT/sorta... Truck Tires ?

Been following this thread, since I'm getting close to needing tires on my Excursion. What suprised me was all the praise for the BFG's. Is the All Terrain KO different than the All Terrain they've always made? Years ago I had a couple sets of the BFG's in 33" and 35", and they sucked. They always wore uneven and bad, no matter how often I had aligmnents and rotated them.
Is this a new, improved version?
All I want in my new tires is quiet. I used to drive a truck with 36" Swampers for my daily driver, and I think I still have that sound stuck in the back of my brain....Never again.
Been leaing towards just going with a new set of Steeltex, only in the next bigger size. I've been pretty happy with them so far. (38,000 miles.)

Rainmn,
The BFG A/T KOs are a new and improved version. I had them before, and was very pleased. I am going to try the Coopers this time; I think. We will see how everything goes.

I think you should put on the SUPER SWAMPERS TSL as long as you don't mind the noise or the bouncing for the first 10 miles when there cold. I had a set of 39.5's on my old F350 but my old body could not take it these day's. I have always used and liked the goodyear ats for my tow trucks.

The truck is going to stay stock height for now. They say it is a pain to lift it with the Auto 4WD option transfer case. I am going with wheels slightly wider than stock, and same diameter.
www.wheelpros.com has a *****en wheel out that I want, but the chrome ones are on back order because of the dock strikes in CA. I will hold off on these until I lift.

I have all of my mods done now with the exception of front windows tinted. The wheels, tires, and airbags, and everything else are all installed. I am VERY, VERY, HAPPY with the Cooper Discoverer AT. They are quiet; handle fantastic, look great, and are not so hard that they spin all the time at stoplights and on on paintstripes.
JASSMAN, thank you for pointing me in this direction!
