My neighbor who is a former test and race driver for Kiekhafer wont buy anything but Evinrudes for his center console, puts well over a thousand hours on them before trading them in.

My father just purchased an evinrude 300 gen 2 for his Steiger fishing boat. He did a full conversion from IO to outboard. He couldn't pass up the insane warranty. Time will tell.

Hopefully the big motors are less finicky than the smaller Rescue Pro 30s. We use them on our flood rescue boats and have sent numerous motors to the shop repeatedly for problems. When they run, they run great. Unfortunately we tend to deal with motors that run for 5 minutes then cut out or start to run rough.
