Better Breathing
We decided to up the power on our family truckster a skosh this winter. Eddie Young rebuilt the motor the boat came with 3 years ago and it has run flawlessly (broke a few drives, spun a coupler, ignition box failed, etc but the motor always ran great). When Eddie rebuilt the motor he kept the Merlin Grumpy Jenkins (325cc intake port) iron heads at my request to save on the build cost. He mentioned at that time if more power were ever desired in the future we could swap heads and turn up the boost and keep the engine just as reliable as it is now. We decided to take him up on the offer this winter. Off came the Grumpy Jenkins 325cc iron heads, on went the Brodix 345cc aluminum heads (which lowered the static compression from 8.25:1 to 8.1:1 mainly because of deck height I think-I'm not mechanically savvy and get lost sometimes with what Eddie is explaining to me). Off came the 4 pound boost pulley combo, on went the 10 pound boost pulley combo. The engine remains a 93 octane pump gas guzzler. Can't wait to get some seat time in the new setup! .

You'll definitely never get Tdub in that thing now! I'll toss the Lifeline in the boat in the off chance I get a ride this summer on Clinton.
