"The rumour I heard was Peter Hedlin(sp) was redesigning the bottom"

Peter of Skater fame?
That doesn't sound right. Dave said it was the same guy who did the Cigarette 36 Gladiator and that he was working out of Florida somewhere. I'm horrible with names and its caught up with me. Dave posted the guys name on Jeff's site, but I can't remember when or where.

Bayley ,
I'm sorry , not the Skater designer, It's the guy that designs allot of UIM Class 1 hulls . I just read the article but seemed to have forgotten the name.

Guys,
As far as I know there is only the 32 Dominator hull.

Lee ,
had a light layup F1 hull that went 79 with a single HP500
and the standard full cabin model runs mid eighties with twin 500's sounds right to me

I got the "32 Inovator" from the web site.

Now I gotta know who this guy was. Anyone know who he he is?
Running in the Hudson River and he was headed towards Croton to pull the boat.

While Im confused is there any other 30'+ V hulls running in the 80's with single engines?

IIRC, the Innovator hull is being revised by Naval Architech Michael Peters, out of Florida. I'm going from memory, so I may be wrong, but for some reason that name is stuck in the "Sunsation" file in my brain.

And yes, the Innovator hull is going to be stretched for the SS396 - actually, the whole reason they built the Innovator was to test the 40' bottom without building a new deck mold. So, they shrunk the bottom to fit a 32 deck mold, but got kind of carried away (from what Dave Hare told me) and ended up building a whole new boat. I don't even think they had plans to sell it as the "Innovator", but the project just kind of took off....

I believe that the 32' is pretty much a twin engine boat, but they built the single engine model for F1 racing. Of course, Sunsation will pretty much build you whatever you want, so I'm sure there are some single engine 32's running around.

I have a 300 Eliminator Eagle that will run just shy of 90mph at Lake Havasu. It has a Whippled HP500EFI. It is hard on drives, thats for sure, but it does perform well for a 30', single engined boat.

Default HE said he was from CT and boats on candlewood lake,, my stomping grounds.

HE said he only boats on the hudson in the spring and fall,, kinda like I USED to do until I met you guys..

Anyway, he said something like over 700 hp, if I remember correctly he said 750, and with the weight saving of another motor and drive, and the extension box, I am not surprised he is almost as fast as a twin with 960 hp.

And yes,,, after we passed you, he BLEW by all of us except Ken..

A good friend of mine has a 2003 32' Dominator with a 500 EFI and Mercury ITS with XR drive ( I actually put a deposit on this boat and then backed off and told my friend about it). It runs right at 75 mph. Future plans are to go with a Whipple, but not sure to go with the standard 500 EFI system or the quad rotor system. I read on the Sunsation message board about this 32 single and was wondering if he had the 500 EFI or quad rotor system? Either way like Tantrum said for 30K I would give up the 5 mph also.

Looks like The ITS slows the rockets down..... I did hear that about these units....

I can hit & bounce off 90 with external steering, low tank volume , right water conditions quite regularly...... However , It's not the 90 mph that's the WOW factor here...

** It's really the 65-70mph up to 90mph that really gets your goat ! ...........
