Running down the bay in 2/3's in the Sonic and look over and see my daughter right next to me in her 21' Checkmate trimmed to the max with no fear and a big grin on her face. She is so much like me it is scary. We get back home and I have to put screws back in her boat and she thanks me. That is what is special to me.

When you've been out in the boat for a while and you find a quite cove because it's time to jump in the lake and cool off. Especially nice when I have kids or grand kids with me to share the fun.

I like chasing down a few Baja's on the way in for the evening. The look on their face when they nail it and I just drive on right on by them in my little bowrider that they have never heard of. (Advantage) Sometimes even with the Bimini top up.

Back in the day.
1. It was going out on Lake Michigan after it had been blowing for 4 days straight out of the north and had finally settled down.
Left were Big giant rollers that I would run my little 18 footer down the troughs wide open not being able to see over either wave to the side.
Than pick a nice soft crest and shoot over the wave .
It was incredible how far you could fly and land in control in the next trough.
Young and dumb and bullet proof back than.
2. The days s after a big blow when the waves would lay down to nice 2 -3 foot ground swell and you could run wide open through them flyin high and landing soft.
3. Racing any performance boat that wanted to run, always running against bigger boats back in the day because they were not that fast .
4 . People you raced in the bigger boats stopping to talk to you to figure out how out of your mind you are to try to race a boat twice your size in 2-3 s and beat them.
Good times back in the days when 60 was fast and 70 was flyin.

Boat ramp on a Friday afternoon with a long weekend ahead. Stress of the work week, expense of this stupid boat, guilt of all the things I am not doing all on my shoulders. The sensation of hearing 10:1 572's hit and the boat float off the trailer removed it all. With 2 bumps of the key, you're now in a better place.

having got not raced in several years the starts are still tough to watch without getting a little choked up lol . . . . staring at the flag guys arm just waiting for the slightest hair to move signaling going from yellow to green . . . . freakin loved the starts when we were all still bunched up in a line droppin the sticks when the green flag flew
