Default Marine Application Serpentine belts

about 5 years ago you could find Dayco, Continental, Goodyear and so on cross reference for Serpentine belts and V belts. I can not find even one currently. Any links to the cross overs

Currently I am looking for a Volvo Penta 496 --- part number 3889126 And help there for starters.

At one time Volvo even cross you over to the Goodyear gatorback belts. I can not even find anything on that either.

John,

The Gatorback brand/line was sold from Goodyear to Continental a year or two ago. You can find them under the Continental brand. BUT I have only had success ordering through mom&pop auto parts stores and online, NOT from the big parts houses/conglomerates.

A start:

6 rib and we measured it to roughly 915 / 916 mm in length --- on a tape measure it is 13 / 16 wide . I bought a dayco but it went on a bit easier meaning a hair bigger in length. I think it measured to 918 or 920 mm in length.

the dayco sits a tiny hair taller in between the pulley's, here is the part number I bought --- Dayco 5060920 6PK2338. But it is new vs a used belt.

As I said it did go on a bit easier as well so I think a couple mm shorter would be better after some belt wear in. The engine does have a tension idler for the set up.

I believe this belt fits a Ford 4,6 L in the auto world.

Napa/Gates Part # 25-060345 is the 6 rib 894mm version, that is only 7/8" shorter than what you have.

7/8 shorter is a lot especially for getting it over and on the pulley set ups.

Yup, It only took me about 2 seconds to get that info for you lol. 7/8" is a considerable difference when it come to a belt.
