I am very impressed with the flat curve for small blocks also
Thanks for the Data.
So if I keep my gear ratio (1.36)
and get the new 5 blade 36 which should get me to 8-9% slip
@ 6000 rpm
What would the new speed be??
I got 15% slip with the 36 Bravo's and from what I have heard the 5 blade should cut that in almost half.
When I ran a set of 34's Bravo's my slip went down to 11- 12% it actuallly made it that with the 34's I had better speed all around exept for when I stayed at wide open for awhile and let the boat catch up. That is how the 36's ended up getting better top speed.
I ended up with a set of 33's for my everyday prop and I could still get 120mph out of those.
Have you heard anything about the Hydromotive 5 blade?

Cat and Mice
A couple of years ago Mercury did a test with my boat trying different props and different length drives. Hotboat artical called it "taking it to the limits" At that time running it with twin 825 horse,136 gears and 36 props turning out at 6100 rpm they ran a best of 131.9.
I now have B-Maxs with 130 ratio, I still have the 36 props but I dont use them. Myself, Im not wanting to go that fast. Its just good to know that it will, if needed..I have lab 30 s, 32s and a set of lab 33s that I like to use. Keeps me in the 120mph top end with the thin air of the Midwest.
anyway, I wish you all the luck in your quest for speed, I like the others on this post hope that you forget the idea, but any way wish you luck and hope you remain safe..
Ever thought about buying a airplane??
