Because Mercury couldn't give me a solid turn around time (I boat in Michigan so every weekend counts). I opted to pay for a Stage II flash because Whipple guaranteed me 24hr turn around. Very happy I went with Whipple. Very good communication and fast service.

It would be cool to see a race gas tune on a 350/400r. Max effort race engines make up to 20% more power on the good stuff.

Go to bass boat central. Find the merc 4 stroke board they can point you to a company that can flash a verado. I think it maybe something like simon motor sports.

To add to this, there are 2 varieties of the 5.44 lower. The "HD" which has a 1.75 gear ratio and is silver in color. Pretty sure it has the 1.25" prop shaft. The standard 5.44, has a 1.85 ratio, black in color, and 1" prop shaft.

i did more research. When the 300 came out there were some improvements in the oil system and windage, and a little more cam.
