i have a Simrad Go9 hooked to a Mercury Link and networked to my chart recorder. Everything works fine and the motor info is fabulous. The original intent was save room on the console but I believe I could fit a Merc 502 display where the analog gauges were, what do I need to proceed? The NEMA 2000 backbone is installed and I have the Simrad Soni Hub 2 also in the system.

The VV 502 should plug right into the nmea backbone. But why pay for the vv 502, which would come with another link? Get a simrad GO5.

I thought about that, I was hoping maybe I could buy just what I need and and not have to but another link. The Go 5 is definitely an option if I can’t just get the VV502 screen.

Do you need the M on the top of the screen instead of the SIMRAD? Otherwise I’m pretty sure they’re they exact same thing.

I saw that Simrad had something like that I just wasn’t sure if it would give the same readings. Thought maybe Id go to West Marine and see theunit, I’m pretty sure they have a demo on display.
