Hi everyone - hope everyone is counting down till spring !!
Does anyone have any experience with the Hyatt Baha Mar in Nassau?
There is a strong chance that the family will be flying down there in early spring for vacation - Looks very nice but need some inputs /opinions
Please and thank you

We have stayed in a condo two doors down from the Baha Mar during construction a few times. We haven't been there since it opened. It's a huge complex that went through one or two bankruptcies during construction? Interested if anyone here has been and if it really turned out as planned.

DTD thank you - I've checked out a number of youtube video's and it really looks nice - did you rent a car while you were there ?
Now for boating - do you get out on Lake St. Clair often - I have a good friend that boats there - he has a larger Sunsation but was thinking that our Cobalt 226 could maybe handle it in most conditions.
again thanks

We haven't rented a car, the traffic down there can be crazy not to mention parking. We take a bus if heading downtown during the day, at night take a cab. Tip the driver well and he will show up when you want or wait for you. The Cable Beach area has some good restaurants and shops, not sure how this has changed with Baha Mar opening. If you snorkel there are some rock piles out front of the beach.
As far as Lake St. Clair I haven't taken my boat out there, only rode on a friend's 30' Searay, so I can't guess how your boat would handle it. I launch in St. Clair and usually ride up to Lake Huron and back. The river gets sloppy and unpredictable at times. Usually we head up north and run the Inland Waterway.

They were pulling scams last year (taking your money, reservations despite the hotel not being open, then booking you elsewhere). My neighbor works in Nassau, comes home on weekends so I have had regular updates on the project.
Secret Nassau deal: stay at the Comfort Suites that is attached to Atlantis. Less money, free breakfast/internet service and you get to use all the Atlantis facilities INCLUDING the waterpark for free. It is literally 100 ft from the Atlantis marina and probably 1000 ft from the casino floor.
