Yeah, maybe little too clean. I reckon he sends the work out, then brings her back home for the photo shoot!

Everything looks first class, thanks for updating the thread.

Wow!
No doubt.

Link didn’t work this morning when I first tried.

Great, great story and the story teller was perfect as well.

Hey Gary, Boat looks great! Such a clean operation and look... Two question, is that a framed Swamp Rat on the wall holding the checker? Can u post more pics of your spare tire holder? That looks like one that would work.. Overall it looks like your taking advantage of the “stay home”. How’s the wife, gotta be slammed with work...

Mocked up my e-bay steering and like what I see.

This weekend I start on my swap shop/e-bay trim tabs.

Drilled a 2” hole through my new transom for a rigging tube and hit the OEM exhaust through hull location that I just filled!

What are the odd’s?

Let’s see, tabs are on (fkg barely!), cut the relief in the cockpit floor for the fuel fill hose which is now at the front of the tank where it should’ve been 35 yrs ago.

Also corrected my fk up on the tank build and had the sending unit port moved to the middle of the tank to be half ass accurate.

And the tank is in for good.

Added another set of bunks to the trailer to get the hull support that makes me happy.

Im close to being able to have fire in my Fla motors to see what I really have.
Compression is bouncing around, I think from coked rings.
Some heat in them w/some Seafoam will tell all.

The motivation from seeing this progress is beyond words 😉

Im thinking it may/will get wet this season, but as a rat rod.

Pull it back down this fall and make it purdy .

Took some fiddling to make these fit. Bennett’s w/locators.

Barely....

Don’t think I have room for much more tank.

1. That’s awesome, crazy story, back in the mid eighties we stopped at the museum on our way home from a family vacation. I was big on drag racing and started to learn all the big names. Around that time I got to see them run at Norwalk and National trails raceway. I had to have been in 4th or 5th grade at the time. We toured the museum. It was awesome, all the old historic drag cars and hot rods. Even at that age I recognized many of them. After going thru everything we walked out and saw the garage doors open to an attached shop. In that garage was that years and last years race cars! How cool was that to stumble on! My dad and I walked over to look and take a picture. Right when my dad was ready to snap a 35mm, a man came walking thru asking would you like me to be in the picture wit your son. We kinda shrugged and gave an “ ok”... The picture was taken and back to Ohio we went. It wasn’t until some time later we figured out that was big daddy don gartlits himself!!!! How freekin cool was that. We didn’t even realize that was him. What a humble down to earth person!

So upon us figuring out who that person was in the pic, it got printed, framed, and hung on my childhood wall. It pretty much stayed there til my parents moved in 2000. Fast forward to the early 2000’s, I was working at a boat store and heard on the radio Big Daddy was to make an appearance at a car dealership down the road. When I heard that something deep inside was you have to go and shake the mans hand cause he was getting older. Kinda the last chance kinda thing. So, I decided to go and got the idea to take the print of that picture and get signed. It was kinda my way of making it full circle....
